How Pastors Who Preach Against Homosexuality Should Deal Their Son or Daughter Who Admits They Are Gay

One of the main reasons why pastors, evangelists and even bishops refuse to preach against specifically homosexuality and may just barely preach against sin, is simply because they are afraid to offend their own children whom are gay or lesbian.  Some ministers even have more than one child whom is living a homosexual lifestyle.  This subject was brought up when we heard an unidentified pastor calling another minister on the radio for help.  This man of God was in tears, but said although it is very difficult for him to accept his child being gay, he continues to preach against homosexuality.  Maybe you are not reading this blog by accident, because you have been dealing with the same issue. As a man or woman of God, let us assure you, you are not alone in this matter, but you must learn how to deal with it and proceed to preach God's complete Word with no remorse.

As a man or woman of God, you know, you are not exempt from facing trials, but God gives you guidance on how to conquer the Devil even when he messes with your family.   When your child told you he or she was a homosexual, it was nothing you did wrong and even if you made mistakes raising him or her, they are without excuse.   Each and every soul must give an account to God for the way the lived when they face judgement, so all you can do is listen to what they say, pray for them, but do not stop preaching against homosexuality or any other sin.   When God called you to preach, He trusted you to win souls for Him.  Now, He did not tell you which souls would willingly serve Him and never said your children be among those saved souls.   It may sound scary, but we have to accept the fact that not all preacher's kids will make it to heaven, simply because they have to make a choice to serve the Lord Jesus Christ for themselves and you or your spouse cannot do it for them.  For many years, there were many God-fearing saints in the black church, but their children would be out smoking, drinking and committing all sorts of crime, it has not changed in the 21st century.  Back in the 20th century, we could even recall how the saints of God seemed to serve the Lord with all of the hearts, minds and souls, but their child ended up getting shot dead from a drug deal gone bad.  If you really want to know the truth, those sort of tragedies are still going on around the country and among those horrific stories, there are so many preachers getting souls saved, but their own children are rebellious and just want to do what the world is doing and sadly, one of the most popular things that is acceptable in our society is to be a homosexual.   A lot of times, your child maybe choosing to be gay or lying that they were born a homosexual, simply because that is what is popular and by doing so, they mess up their lives.   The good news, is that their soul does not belong to you, their soul is in God's hands.   All God wants you to do, is to keep fasting and praying for them to be delivered and set free, but you cannot live their lives for them.  You must turn them over to God and continue to offer deliverance to other people.

In the history of the black church, right after the civil rights movement, we heard a lot of discussions among various families, regarding certain children being a homosexual, but it was not a popular time for them to publicly admit it.   Pastors of the black church feared God so much, because a great civil rights leader had just been assassinated and our race had just ceased the era of inequality in America. Although, we new some children of pastors and the saints of God may have acted effeminate or butch, they knew better than to be so bold, because there was a fear of God and they were reminded that God delivered us from slavery and the Jim Crow movement.  Now, since we have been so free from inequality for about 40 years, many African Americans have forgotten what God has done and have chosen to join the gay rights movement as civil rights and in the midst of this spiritual rebellion preachers kids are coming out as homosexuals and even supporting gay marriage.   Their choice has a lot to do with satanic forces within society, it has nothing to do with the way you raised them, but because they have not completely surrendered their souls to Jesus Christ, they have lost power over their own souls and the Devil is controlling them, not God.  Therefore, let them go, do not give up on them, but  do not beg them to change.  God has got too many lost souls coming into your sanctuary for you to be pleading with your children to give up homosexuality.   Begin to pray and seek God, but you must continue preaching against all sin and getting souls delivered from Satan's territory.   God wants you to be happy and a lot of times, the Devil may use your child to make you unhappy.   Do not allow their decision to be gay or lesbian, make you unhappy.  If that is the way they want to be, just remember, they maybe your children, but their soul is in God's hands and He will take care of them, if you just allow Him to work.  However, if they never choose to let homosexuality go, it is not your problem and you are certainly not to blame.

Too many souls will miss out and go to hell, if you are always thinking about what your child is going to think, if you preach against homosexuality.   It is not fair to those lost souls, if you are just concerned about your child.   Remember, God is a jealous God, and if you continue to ignore His desire for you to preach against any type of sin, you may eventually face His wrath.  You must love God more than your child.

Biblical Scriptures against Homosexuality 

•  1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." 

• Leviticus 18:22 - "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." 

• Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." 

• Romans 1:26-27 - "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."
