Remembering Oakland's Chauncey Bailey Who Exposed Dr. Yusef Bey and Your Black Muslim Bakery Scandal
I was born and raised in the city of Oakland, California. I was proud of all of the black businesses and progression African Americans were making in my city. When we had the only solely black-owned cable station in the nation, Soul Beat, it was a thrill and honor. We as Oaklanders and residents of the entire San Francisco Bay Area enjoyed the variety of local news reports, even though it was on a lower scale than national news outlets. It was ours. We enjoyed our Oakland Post newspaper which was black owned and its top journalist Chauncey Bailey.
