Mahalia Jackson Camp Apologizes to Fantasia Barrino for Statements Made

Apparently, there has been misjudgement passed about singer Fantasia and her personal life with her boyfriend and expecting baby on the way.

The Mahalia Jackson family has apologized for statements made about her not being fit for the role. Now, we can see how their alleged alternate choice being Missy Elliot seemed totally farfetched.

Producers of the upcoming Mahalia Jackson biopic have apologized to its star Fantasia Barinno for comments given to the New York Post by a financing broker for the film that were not authorized. Adrian Taylor, posing as an executive producer for the film stated it had to be pushed back because of Fantasia’s pregnancy with her married boyfriend, Antwaun Cook, and that Producers were “furious” with the 27-year-old for not telling them about her unexpected and unwed pregnancy.

Estate of Gospel's Mahalia Jackson Unhappy with Fantasia's Unwed Pregnancy, May Seek Replacement

Well, it looks like Fantasia should not have lied about being pregnant in the first place because it may not only jeopardize her chance to portray one of gospel's greatest singers but it may shut down the entire project all together- if plans can not be worked out.

Fantasia may not get to play the role of Mahalia Jackson after all. Members of the legendary gospel singer’s estate are appalled that Fanny is pregnant and and not married, according to the NY Post.

Also, producers are reportedly upset that she didn’t reveal her pregnancy until she was four months along and instead claimed she was “putting on weight” for the role.

Executive producer of the film Adrian Taylor said: “The family thinks if Fantasia plays the role, it’s going to sully the name of Mahalia. They think she’s got the wrong image, having a child out of wedlock.”
