Gospel Singer Karen Clark-Sheard in Production with BET for Her Own Family Reality Show: ‘The Sheards’

One report states that there's yet another gospel artist looking to be in the limelight a little more by starring in a reality show. We were not enthused when Mary Mary started their reality show along with Marvin Sapp and Kim Burrell. We just think its all self centered and not at all centered on God.

Well, according to DaGospelTruth.com, they knew about the forthcoming reality show featuring gospel singer sister from the The Clark Sisters, Karen Clark-Sheard and...

Seattle Church Musician Tim Dampier Plead Guilty to 22 Counts of Sexual Molestation on Boys

In May 2011, Pastor R.L. Manaway of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church set up a meeting between an adult male member of his church and minister and church musician Tim Dampier. The church member accused Dampier of molestation the October before. Pastor Manaway took it upon himself to have the two discuss the issue instead of going to police. By law, the state of Washington does not mandate clergy to report sexual abuse to the local authorities.

Court documents stated during the meeting, Dampier reportedly admitted that "playful" touching occurred but denied molestation.

After Dampier was arrested last week, investigators say he finally admitted to molesting that victim named Kenny M. and several other boys.

Civil Rights Leader Jesse Jackson Says: "I Will Perform Gay Marriage... If Asked To"

Just recently, it has been reported that Rev. Jesse Jackson would perform a same sex marriage if he was asked to. During last week’s DNC, Jackson told Human Events that he doesn't see a “no problem” with gay marriage. By announcing that he would 'if asked to', opens the door to gay couples all around the world to flock to him and it just might happen.

Jesse Jackson has joined the ranks of other ministers like Pastor Joel Osteen who agree to fathom the thought of it in some way or another....

Craig Lamar Davis: Could Be Charged in Multiple Counties on Reckless Behavior

There are two metro Atlanta women have accused a Clayton County man of exposing them to HIV.
Police say Craig Lamar Davis may have exposed an Atlanta woman and a Union City woman to the potentially deadly virus. One of the women says she has tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. As the law states, it is illegal in Georgia to knowingly expose someone to HIV. Davis may be charged in other counties as well in the future.

Craig Lamar Davis is out on bond in both cases and awaiting the completion of grand jury investigations in Fulton and Clayton counties, which could take months. Through his attorney Davis denies some of the charges.

Local Atlanta newspaper interviewed with Davis’ attorney show that Davis, 41, met...

AT2W’s Tidbits on Megachurch Pastors Receiving Larger Salaries

Megachurch Pastors Receiving Larger Salaries, Report Says

Well, if you really want to know more about how pastors are paid and how much these megachurch pastors receive, you could use the information below as a guide. You can also rest assure that we have our tidbits to add to it.

A new report says megachurch pastors' salaries have increased over the last two years. It also stated the salaries were stagnated for a short period of time.

According to the 2012 Large Church Salary Report by Leadership Network (whose heard of this organization?), senior pastor salaries rose about 2 percent per year for the last two years. These particular pastors were said to be leading growing churches.

The Leadership Network is said to have been conducting salary surveys of large churches since 2001.
For whatever reason, the network began looking into the salaries of megachurch leaders and asked for salary comparisons with peer churches. We do have to say it is an interesting topic especially if the findings open the eyes of the public.

Black Pastors Urged Not to Use Pulpit for Politicking, Says IRS

We know they are monitoring this closely because there are many pastors going all out on politics these days.

Read report below:

Top officials from the Internal Revenue Service recently appeared at an event for African-American clergy to remind religious leaders that federal law prohibits houses of worship from endorsing or opposing candidates for public office.

The May 30 event, which was sponsored by the Conference of National Black Churches and the Congressional Black Caucus, was an effort by President Barack Obama and his congressional allies to instruct pastors in black churches on how to get around a federal law that bars non-profit groups from intervening in partisan politics.

In fact, the presentation in Washington, D.C., was nothing of the kind and amounted to a reminder to church leaders not to engage in pulpit politicking...

Florida Pastor Henry Lyons Files Bankruptcy to Elude Church Foreclosure

Florida Pastor Henry Lyons Files Bankruptcy to Elude Church Foreclosure

The scandalized Rev. Henry Lyons, who rocked a national African-American Baptist organization in the late 1990s, is now facing the possibility of losing his Tampa church.

New Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Tampa filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July to try and fend off foreclosure by Fifth Third Bank. The bank says it loaned the church $1.1 million in 2007 but that New Salem missed payments and has defaulted.

The bankruptcy filing appears to have stopped the bank from taking back any properties for now.

R&B Diva Chaka Khan To Drop a Gospel Album?

R&B Singer Chaka Khan To Drop a Gospel Album?

We now have Chaka Khan giving her try on singing gospel. BET's The Gospel According to Torrence has reported she's working on a Gospel EP which should be released in January.

We saw Chaka Khan sing gospel at Oprah's Gospel Brunch on Youtube and of course she did a great job. All we ask is if she can do it in a way that exemplifies the heart of God. We pray she does not invite the hip hop and R&B into the mix.

But we have to say that we wish artists would choice one or the other. We know that people have talents in many different areas but it really does confuse their audience into thinking its o.k. to serve two masters. This is mentioned only in the sense that the genres are mixed and it gives us a distorted sense of holiness and total reverence to God.

Ukraine Pastor Sunday Adelaja Faces Arrest and Government Freezes Assets

Nigerian-born pastor, Sunday Adelaja, who oversees one of the largest evangelical churches in Eastern Europe, faced the possibility of arrest Tuesday.

Police summoned him to their headquarters in Kiev, Ukraine, where he could have been detained in an investigation into his alleged involvement in a now-defunct business run by members of his church.
Adelaja told a Nigerian newspaper that police turned him away at the door because the charges are not ready, but they told him to return next week.

Though he is free, Adelaja learned that all his assets, including his home, vehicles and bank accounts, have been seized by the government.

Bishop Paul Morton Concerned Over Pastor Craig Lamar Davis Scandal (Part 1)

The bishop is very concerned that the Full Gospel Baptist Church name is being drug in the mud over the recent news of Pastor Craig Lamar Davis and his alleged spreading of HIV to church members. Apparently, the woman, Ronita McAfree, who broke the story with her famous letter about Pastor Craig Lamar Davis has slept with Bishop Paul Morton's executive assistant's husband.

Consequently, Morton's executive assistant now has HIV as well. Bishop Paul Morton also states Pastor Craig Lamar Davis was never a pastor in Full Gospel.

Thanks to our friends at Joy 105 for the heads up. Take a look at the tweets below and what we have to say as well at the end.

Pastor Craig Lamar Davis: 7 Things To Consider Before You Sleep With a Married Pastor

Pastor Craig Lamar Davis: 7 Things To Consider Before You Sleep With a Married Pastor

We have to give it to our friends over at Hicktown Press. They wrote about the story circulating the web, as we did, on the arrest of Atlanta pastor Craig Lamar Davis and his charges of spreading HIV as reckless behavior to women in and out of the church.

We just posted the story yesterday and found our friends at Hicktown Press and their thoughts on the subject. We have to say we agree 100% with their analysis. Like them, we cover stories about false prophets, pulpit pimps, sexual abuse among pastors and church children, whore-munging men and women of God all of the time. It's so easy to blame the pastor or leader of the church because they should represent the purest in our communities and not the adversary they claim to pray against!

In reality, we have to look at both sides. It takes two to tangle. The old saying is true. If we don't want to be victimized, as adults there are steps we can take to avoid some things. We aren't speaking of young children and the very vulnerable of our society. We are speaking about, in particular, women in the church who will sleep with a man of God... just because??

Remembering Pastor Zachery Tims

 Remembering Pastor Zachery Tims
It was just nearly one year ago the late pastor Zachery Tims was found in a New York hotel. The news of his death shocked the church world and followers alike. Zachery Tims was a popular pastor in nearby Orlando, Florida but by the time this news hit nationwide, he became a household name.

Since it has been a year, followers and spectators are still in the dark about exactly what happened the day of his death. The toxicology and autopsy reports have not been released due to Tims' mother having them court ordered shut, for now. The family is moving forward and even the church has an unfavorable pastor in charge but they have moved on as well. But what about the true of his death?
Will it ever be released to the public as most cases have been in the history of America?

We reported early this year:

Madeline Tims' attorney Ricardo E. Oquendo says the Appellate Court should grant the stay and it could be more than a year until a decision is made. Apparently, Oquendo has until October to file his appeal.

Madeline Tims attorney also curtly states: "If I win my stay, there will not be a decision on the Tims case until 2013," Oquendo said.

Rev. Sylvia Copeland-Murphy’s Book ‘Church Inbreed’: A Must Read To Restore Today's Church

Rev. Sylvia Copeland-Murphy’s Book ‘Church Inbreed’: A Must Read To Restore Today's Church

To follow what the author is stating in this book, we must first know what the word 'dated' means in regards to the content.
dated (comparative more dated, superlative most dated)

1. Marked with a date.
2. Out of date.
3. Anachronistic; being obviously inappropriate for its present context.
4. No longer fashionable.

The author's website gives us some great insight on what the book will cover which is necessary information for us today:
Church Inbreed unveils the truth of how Satan has discreetly crept into the church and intimately dated believers. His presence is as subtle poison; not easily detected and unrecognized. As much as Christians want to believe in the theological universalism, all souls will not eventually find Salvation! An evolution of corrupt worship extends out of the uniting of the world and church.
