Update: Richard Roberts, Son of Oral Roberts, Has Been Put on Probation for DUI

This is just an update, regarding the verdict for Evangelist Richard Roberts, the son of the late Oral Roberts. He has been placed on probation and does not have to spend time in jail. God bless him and we pray the Lord Jesus Christ continues to give him strength for complete deliverance.

Evangelist Richard Roberts Spared Jail Time; Given Probation for Drunk Driving

Evangelist Richard Roberts has been spared jail time but given an 18-month probation after pleading guilty on Tuesday to a misdemeanor charge of drunk driving at a Tulsa County, Okla., court.

Roberts, who is the son of televangelist Oral Roberts and has previously served as president of Oral Roberts University, was arrested on Jan. 24 in Oklahoma for speeding and suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred after midnight on the Creek Turnpike west of U.S. 169, where the evangelist was stopped by troopers for allegedly driving at 93 mph in a 65 mph zone in his black Mercedes.

Richard Roberts' Court Appearance and Hearing On DUI Charge Moved To May 2012

This is an update, regarding Richard Roberts, the son of the late Oral Roberts whom was arrested for driving under the influence back in January, 2012. He appeared in court yesterday, but has been postponed until May, this year.

We hope and pray Richard Roberts seek spiritual help, regarding his addiction to alcohol and also pray he no longer drives behind the wheel of a car while drunk, if he cannot beat his addiction in time. Too many people have got in deadly accidents, because of drunk drivers and no matter who it is, they should not be caught driving under the influence. Also, as we've shared in our previous articles, if Roberts is troubled over previous issues of losing his position as the head of Oral Roberts University, he should also seek spiritual guidance for his depression. However, we are praying for him.

Tulsa's Richard Roberts' Court Appearance Postponed Again

TULSA, Oklahoma -

A former president of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa was scheduled to be back in a Tulsa County courtroom Wednesday but that hearing was postponed again, this time until May 4, 2012.

Richard Roberts is charged with speeding and driving under the influence stemming from a January 2012 incident.
