Vanessa Clark of Lufkin, Texas had already lost her first child, Tristan because her newborn slept in bed with her. We cannot understand why she would do it again, after Child Protective Service workers already forewarned her about the dangers of sleeping with newborns. Vanessa Clark now is being convicted for the death of her second child, Christian, after the jury heard the CPS workers testimony. If God blesses you to have another child, after you lose one, why would you do the same thing over again that caused SIDS? Obviously Vanessa Clark did not realize how blessed she was to have two children, many women cannot even bore one. A lot times, people take God's blessings for granted, but it is only for so long, He will allow them to go on, after making one mistake. In Vanessa Clark's case, at first it was as though she did not know any better, but it was not as though she forgot what happened to her firstnewborn, after her second child was born.
What does SIDS stand for? According to PubMed, Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is the unexpected, sudden death of a child under age 1 in which an autopsy does not show an explainable cause of death. Although, we realize there are some innocent cases of parents sleeping with their newborns, we still feel God opposes it. If it was okay for newborns to sleep in the bed with their parents, then, why does SIDS exist? Babies are fragile and they are not equipped to sleep in a regular bed with adults, which is a fact we must except. Although, they are our babies, they belong to God, first and He has a certain way we must handle them with ultimate care. Newborns must be treated with special care and if not, anything is bound to happen like in Vanessa Clark's case, twice.
