The verdict has been reached in the murder of James Craig Anderson, 49 and Deryl Dedmon,19, gets life in prison, although he pleaded not guilty. There used to be a time when murder cases that involved racism were allegedly more acceptable by the judicial system, but we have come into an age when Mississippi seems to be holding white supremacists accountable for their hate-crimes, at least in this specific case. However, in the 21st century, it does not seem like we have fully gotten past racial hate-crimes, although there is much diversity among various races, especially in the form of interracial marriages.
It is very sad that James Craig Anderson died the way many African Americans died before and during the civil rights movement. We pray he made it into God's Kingdom and we pray that Deryl Demon and his accomplices repent for the murder of Anderson.
By November, it was allegedly stated they would seek the death penalty. Whether Deryle Dedmon lives or dies, let us pray he repents for murdering James Craig Anderson, so he can have eternal life with Jesus Christ.

Deryl Dedmon pleaded guilty to murder and a hate-crime charge before a judge in Jackson on Wednesday afternoon, admitting to the June killing of James Craig Anderson. Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill sentenced him to two concurrent life terms, saying, "This craven act isn't who we are."
"Whatever excuse you offer, forget that. There is no excuse," Weill said. He added, "The state of Mississippi condemns this despicable crime."
