Doctor Shoots and Kills Colleague For Getting Him Fired, Then Commits Suicide: Is a Job Worth More Than Your Soul?

It seems like the demon of murder-suicide is now haunting those in prestigious positions.   Since when does a doctor kill another doctor, then shoots himself dead?   Usually, we do not hear of many stories like this one, but it seems like the gunman, Dr. Giocondo Navek could not deal with Payman Houshmandpour, 32, allegedly getting him fired from his job.  We are living in an evil age that involves people who will die for their job.   Of course, there is stress, but nothing is worth anyone taking another person's life, including their own.   The pride of having a lucrative career and the respect people give you when they discover your status is what a lot of people live for, it does not matter if it is a doctor, lawyer, an architect, a CEO of a Fortune 500 company or even these days, a pastor of a mega ministry people will resent another person over their job or prestigious position.   This is not the same sort of situation, but this reminds us of a story that occurred about 10 years ago in Long Beach California that involved a baptist minister by the name of Henry Hayes who murdered his wife and little girl.   His wife threatened to tell everyone he was cheating on her, which he thought would keep him from being a future pastor of a very prominent church, so he took the life of his wife and their daughter.   That was nothing more than a case of selfishness and it is the same with this situation.   Dr. Navek whom was not on his job two years chose to take the life of another human being, including his own, because his job was taken away, which is selfishness.

Folks, it does not matter if your education is being threatened and you have struggled for years to achieve a degree.   Your soul is never worth confronting a situation that involves murder.  People may make you feel as though you are nothing without a job or education, but you have got to see yourself how God sees you.   God never said your job and education will get you into the Kingdom of Heaven, he only said a pure heart and righteous living, that's it.   We have got to abstain from sin and love our enemies, never did it ever mention having a job or getting an education was the similitude of salvation and shame on people whom have acted as though those two achievements is a necessity for one's soul.   For instance, say you get a job earning six-figures a month.   Would you kill if it were taken away, because someone turned you in for a violation or even for something you were not guilty of doing?   Hopefully not, because God expects us to have integrity in all things.   No high paying job, prestigious position or an MBA is worth your soul and never forget it.

When people always quote the scripture in Mark 8:36 that says, 'What profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his (or her) soul', they always think it is referring to making money the wrong way like being a drug dealer, a pimp or a prostitute, but that is not necessarily so.    That scripture is also talking about situations such as this doctor shooting and killing his colleague, then taking his own life.  That scripture is talking about any career or education that is more valuable to a person than his or her own or someone else soul.   Whether you profit legally or illegally, your soul is always worth much more than the money, status or education you have made.    In other-wards, both of these doctors had a title behind their name, but once they cross over into judgement, they cannot get into the Kingdom of heaven because of heir positions as doctors, only if their soul was fully dedicated to Jesus Christ.

May Payman Houshmandpour rest in peace and we pray God have mercies on Dr. Giocondo Navek's soul for this murder-suicide.
