77-Year-Old Pastor Accused of Trafficking Oxycodone: No preachers in the black church should be drug dealers


We do not mean any harm, but we could not believe this pastor was a woman, which is why we can understand the scripture found in Deuteronomy 22:5 and cannot understand why certain  preachers of today within the black church and others oppose that specific commandment.  We will deal with that further along in this article, but first, we also are shocked this pastor was caught allegedly selling drugs.  Her name is Gussie Smith, an elderly Florida pastor who has been accused of trafficking Oxycodone.  She's 77 years old and is highly respected by residents who do not believe she has been dealing drugs, although they have seen her mugshot.   We say to them, facts don't lie, but we understand she is innocent until proven guilty.   They may not want to believe it, but obviously God has been watching Pastor Smith all along and she got caught in her mess.

We once heard of a fly by night baptist evangelist dealing drugs out of the pulpit many years ago, we could not understand how any church could respect him or even discern his double life.   It is the same with this 77-year-old pastor, Gussie Smith.  Why do the residents in the neighborhood near her church find it hard to believe?  It does not matter she has been preaching for years there, God always brings a person's dirt out to be revealed, although it is an embarrassment to His Kingdom.

Another question, what sort of people would follow Pastor Gussie Smith?   For this reason, just by looking at her she does not look like a saved woman, she looks like she could have been living a hard life of sin for a very longtime and it seems to be more than drugs.  We are so tired of these celebrity preachers spreading their false philosophies over the true Word of God, claiming we are not supposed to properly represent God by our appearance.   If they would stop preaching these lies, then we would not have pastors like Gussie Smith selling drugs.  There should be some sort of authority examining spirits whom think they have the right to preach.   It does not matter if she has been preaching for years, there should have been someone who knew Smith's double life before police arrested her.  Did people in the neighborhood feel so sorry for her, they would go so far to protect her? 

Can God use anyone?  Of course, He can, but as followers of Christ there are scriptures that instruct us to be holy.  In I Peter 1:16 it says, 'Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. As representatives of Christ, whether we be preachers, gospel artists, ministers of music, bishops or pastors, He expects us to not only act holy, but look like we are a part of His Kingdom.  This is why young people are confused today, because many preachers in the pulpit are not just confusing them with modern age trends, but they are not presenting themselves as Christ told us to do.

This is why we always encourage ministers whom claim to be full gospel preachers to go back to restrictions within the (black) church, because pastors are supposed to be examples to our youth and she does not appear to be an example of a holy woman, inside and out.   You modern age ministers say, 'it does not matter what you look like, it's what's in your heart.'   Can you look at the above photo and say the same thing?  Don't lie and say you can, because you know that's not true.  It does matter how you carry yourself on the outside and as well as being righteous in your soul.  This is why we previously applauded the young Texas teen who stood up against wearing pants on her first day at Burger King, because she was simply obeying this following scripture found in Deuteronomy 22:5, “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.”   There is a reason why that scripture is in God's Word and it is not to be ignored within the black church or any other ministry.

In the meantime, we will be praying for Gussie Smith.  We pray she gets her soul right with God and stop allegedly selling drugs, because at her age, no telling when God is ready for her life to come to an end.  She has to be righteous when she stands before Jesus Christ and His angels.  Therefore, we hope she repents before it is everlasting too late.
